On April 16th, Careem announced the extension of its on-demand delivery service, “Careem Box” to include Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The service provides its users in both emirates with an affordable and convenient option when needing to transport goods during these challenging times.
Embedded in the Careem App as a new car type, Careem Box also has a reliable in-app tracking system that allows the customer to see exactly where their package is. The service offers an option to pick & drop any item, where Careem’s captains will be able to pick up anything forgotten or grab a delivery from a friend and deliver it to customers, while offering another option to shop & drop, where Careem captains will shop for any item on the customer’s behalf, with the amount limited to 350 AED.
Careem Box is an on-demand service that enables customers to request a pick-up of items, share instructions with the Captain to fulfill their needs, and then provide their desired drop-off location. A comment option is also available for the customer to communicate with the Captain and list the items to be purchased on their behalf. Customers can have their items picked up and delivered within the hour.
Gheed ElMakkaoui, General Manager at Careem UAE said, “We are excited to be extending our delivery offering, Careem Box, to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, especially during times like these. We’ve seen this product simplify our customers’ day-to-day lives in Dubai and hope to do the same across the rest of the UAE. This is just the start of our Super App strategy, enabling us to expand our services, all under one app.”
Careem Box is currently available from 6 am to 12 am in Abu Dhabi and from 6 am to 7 pm in Sharjah, starting as low as 14 AED.
