Bidaya Media (Bidaya), a leading production company behind the animated comedy, action and adventure series Mansour, has launched dubbed versions of the hit show in seven different languages on YouTube, the online video sharing social media platform. The release of the dubbed videos, ranging from English, Arabic, Spanish and more, were chosen based on the production company’s decision to expand its target audiences on the popular channel.
Commenting on this, Nabil El Jisr, the Chief Executive Officer of Bidaya, said: “Mansour is the first original Arabic television cartoon series produced in the Emirati dialect to have developed a substantial fanbase with local and global success. With this achievement, we were inspired to dub the series into seven more languages to bring the unique entertainment the series provides to children on every continent.”
El Jisr added: “Our ultimate objective is to instill the important morals of both the UAE and the Arabic-speaking world in every child locally and internationally. We will continue to work on developing Mansour and reach an even larger international fanbase through high quality content and the lead character’s inspiring stories which will undoubtedly make a positive impact on generations to come.”
The series has been dubbed into Classical Arabic, English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Indonesian, Hindi and Urduthus far, with each language being launched on its own localized YouTube channel, linking to the original Emirati Mansourseries YouTube channel.
The announcement is in line with Bidaya’s overall growth strategy to expand its business globally since the launch of the original channel. To date, the production company has expanded the show’s reach across the wider Arabic-speaking audiences, with substantial viewership in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Egypt, and Kuwait. The cartoon series has also gained traction in communities across the global Arab diaspora, particularly in North America and Europe.
The series targets children aged 6-12focusing on key values such as the importance of family, the appreciation of cultural diversity, creative thinking, innovation and the positive impact of technology.
The series was originally created by Rashed Alharmoodi, the award-winning Executive Producer of the cartoon, and was seed funded by Mubadala Investment Company. It was produced in partnership with twofour54 and Cartoon Network Studios Arabia.
