The Department of Municipalities and Transport has announced the launch of the Capital Plan Survey under the slogan “Together We Shape the Future”, which reflects its commitment to working to make Abu Dhabi one of the most livable, competitive and vibrant cities in the world. This special initiative aims to collect opinions, ideas and suggestions representing various segments of society, including citizens, residents, businesses and others, in order to contribute to shaping the future of the capital.
Commenting on the launch of the survey, His Excellency Hamad Al Mutawa, Executive Director of the Planning and Infrastructure Sector at the Department of Municipalities and Transport, said : “ We believe that the ideal city is one that reflects the ambitions and aspirations of its residents and meets their needs. Therefore, our initiative to launch the Capital Plan Survey for all members of society confirms our absolute commitment to working in accordance with the collective vision to reshape the future of Abu Dhabi in a way that reflects the hopes, needs and aspirations of every individual and institution in our vibrant community.”
His Excellency added , “The survey highlights our keenness to contribute to the development of the capital so that it always expresses the needs and aspirations of its residents and works for them, as we strive to redraw the features of the future in a way that suits all segments of society and also sets new standards to enhance Abu Dhabi’s leading position on the global level.”
In this context, the Department invites the public to participate in the Capital Plan Survey and submit suggestions and opinions that would contribute to setting future development plans for Abu Dhabi. The Department confirmed that the Capital Plan Survey is short and does not take more than four minutes to complete. It is available until Friday, May 31, 2024, for all segments of society, regardless of profession, education level or cultural background, in order to give everyone the opportunity to share their future aspirations towards enhancing Abu Dhabi’s distinguished position, and their proposals for development and areas of improvement of all kinds.
The Department indicated that the Capital Plan Survey adopted an approach based on the principles of long-term sustainable development, including flexibility and effective community participation, which ensures the best aspects of prosperity for future generations.
