Officially opening its doors on Friday, 22nd August, the beloved homegrown concept, Blu Pizzeria, is firing up its ovens in the capital. The celebrated sourdough Neapolitan pizza boutique born in Dubai brings its signature woodfired flavour and artisanal spirit to Al Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi.
Founded by Emirati entrepreneur Abdelrahman Alteneiji, Blu Pizzeria blends authentic Napoli-style techniques with bold Middle Eastern flavours. Drawing inspiration from his travels, Alteneiji created a brand that unites the warmth of tradition with a modern, local twist.
With branches in Riyadh, Jumeirah, and Al Khawaneej, the Al Saadiyat opening marks a major milestone in the brand’s regional growth. At 5,000 square feet, the Abu Dhabi branch is Blu’s largest to date, featuring an expansive space that extends outdoors by the sea. Designed with natural materials, clean lines, and a calm, neutral palette, it reflects Blu’s minimalist ethos of simplicity, craftsmanship, and good food.
The menu highlights Blu’s flavour-first philosophy with both classics and inventive creations. Guests can enjoy the Margo, a tribute to the Margherita; the crowd-favourite Spicy Pepperoni with hot honey; and the Musakhan topped with sautéed chicken, sumac, and roasted almonds. For something more indulgent, the Short Ribs and Spicy Wagyu pizzas offer a richer take while staying true to the brand’s casual spirit.
To celebrate its Abu Dhabi debut, Blu is introducing three exclusive dishes available only at this branch: a limited-edition pizza crafted for the capital, a signature appetizer, and a unique spin on tiramisu – showcasing the brand’s commitment to local inspiration and fresh ideas.
“Our goal has always been simple: serve great pizza that brings people together,” says Alteneiji. “With Abu Dhabi, we’re excited to share our story and create new memories with a wider community.”
Opening this August, the Al Saadiyat branch ushers in a new chapter for Blu ahead of its upcoming international launches in London, New York, and Los Angeles – bringing Napoli’s charm to Abu Dhabi’s shores.
