Calling all heroes. Have you got the football fire to become an ‘Ultimate Hero’? The FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018, which takes place in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain from December 12 – 22, is launching a mega fan engagement campaign to find the country’s top football supporters. Get ready for the ultimate challenge with ultimate rewards!
To become an ‘Ultimate Hero’ fans should visit the FIFA Club World Cup Experience on its mobile tour around the UAE and test their football skills in a series of challenges modelled after the positions on the football pitch. If you’ve got the lightning reflexes of a top-class goalkeeper, the aerial ability of an ace defender, the control and stamina of an all-action midfielder, or the shooting prowess of a goal-scoring machine, you may have what it takes to be an ‘Ultimate Hero’.
Kicking off on June 18 in Al Ain’s Bawadi Mall, the FIFA Club World Cup Experience will provide all fans a unique opportunity to showcase their skills in up to eight challenges across four age groups. An entry fee of AED 25 will give Ultimate Hero challengers a shot at glory and the chance to rub shoulders with some of the world’s best footballers during the tournament in December. Entrants will also be given tickets for any of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018’s first three match days.
The top five in each age category will be presented with fabulous prizes and once-in-a-lifetime on-pitch experiences alongside true football legends, at a victory ceremony in the tournament’s fan village.
Fans can also choose to try out the free-to-enter challenges without having to commit to the Ultimate Hero challenge.
“The FIFA Club World Cup Experience is the perfect way to engage with the UAE community and give youngsters and adults the chance to take part in the action-packed activities to get active, test their skills and compete against friends and communities in the lead up to the exciting tournament in December,” said His Excellency Aref Hamed Al Awani, Tournament Director of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 Local Organising Committee.
“This is the ideal place for friends and families to gather, participate and compete. See how your skills compare to the legends of the FIFA Club World Cup, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and local heroes like Omar Abdulrahman and get to watch the champions play in Abu Dhabi in December.”
The Experience will also feature a community outreach programme which will tour 24 schools, universities and football academies throughout the Emirates over 30 days engaging more than 4,000 students. The Experience tour will end by morphing into fan zones in the two FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2018 venues of Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi and the iconic Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
The simulated player’s journey begins in a realistic clubhouse environment, where they are greeted by a friendly session ‘Coach’ to learn about the tournament’s history and competing teams. They then move to the pitch where they will compete in a focused series of football challenges based on player positions in the field. The Striker Zone will track accuracy and pure scoring prowess while the Midfield Zone will test passing and control skills. The Defender Zone will measure leaping and heading abilities while the Goalkeeper Zone tests agility as would-be heroes leap and dive to stop a barrage of shots!
