Under the honorary founding patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abu Dhabi Festival signs a historic partnership with China Shanghai International Arts Festival. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Her Excellency Huda Alkhamis, Founder of ADMAF and Abu Dhabi Festival, and Mr. Li Ming, President of China Shanghai International Arts Festival at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi.
This historic partnership was forged in the presence of His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, opening a new chapter of cultural cooperation and understanding between UAE and China, which has united the two nations for four decades. The two festivals, Abu Dhabi Festival and the China Shanghai International Arts Festival, will collaborate on new commissions, co-productions, and cultural exchange programmes for the time in the Arab world.
Her Excellency Huda Alkhamis, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and Founder of Abu Dhabi Festival, said:
