Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre Hosts Major Events In April

Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) is hosting several major local and international events throughout the month of April, including three key events this week.

Set to welcome tens of thousands of visitors from the UAE and abroad under one roof, notable among these events are the EmiratesSkills National Competition, Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2019, Morocco in Abu Dhabi 2019 and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF).

Running from 15 to 17 April, the EmiratesSkills National Competition challenges young and talented Emiratis to demonstrate a wide variety of skills across 56 categories. Organised by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) and based on the WorldSkills International model, the event has attracted more than 400 contestants and 210 career and education experts that dispense useful advice. The competition also features hands-on workshops by ACTVET, aimed at enhancing the participants’ skills.

Another important event taking place at ADNEC this week is Cityscape Abu Dhabi that will run from 16 to 18 April. The leading property investment development event in the UAE capital will convene key industry decision makers, investors, homebuyers, developers, representatives of government and investment authorities, architects, designers, consultants and senior industry professionals from across the globe.

Organised by Informa Exhibitions, Cityscape Abu Dhabi is known as the barometer of the UAE’s property sector. Through its exhibition, conference and other content features, the event fosters partnerships and creates opportunities to drive development and investment across the country.

Art and culture enthusiasts also have something to look forward to this week at ADNEC. The exhibition centre will host a Moroccan art and culture exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, from 18 to 30 April. Titled Morocco in Abu Dhabi 2019, the unique event aligns with the objective of reinforcing political, economic, scientific, tourism and cultural ties between the UAE and Morocco.

The exhibition seeks to offer UAE residents a sneak peek into Morocco’s authentic culture and heritage. Exhibits will cover a range of topics and interests, including architecture, music, art and cuisine, in addition to customs, traditions, fashion and the Moroccan Heritage Museum.

Moreover, a Design and Youth Gallery, inspired by historic architecture, will serve as a platform for young people’s artistic expression at the event. This year’s event will also feature a stunning display of Islamic architecture, fashion shows drawing on the ceremonial rituals at traditional Moroccan weddings, and tastings of culinary creations by world-renowned chefs showcasing Morocco’s colourful cuisine.

Next week will also be busy at ADNEC, as the venue prepares for ADIBF that will run from 24 to 30 April, as well as the Bett MEA Leadership Summit, scheduled for 22 to 23 April.

ADNEC will also host the Future Entrepreneurs Exhibition from 23 to 24 April, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Festival from 24 to 27 April, as well as the Neurological Rehabilitation and Disability Management Congress (NeRDiM) 2019 from 26 to 27 April.
