Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, ADNEC, joins national exhibition associations and exhibitions venues across the world today celebrating Global Exhibitions Day (GED).
The day highlights the importance of business tourism as a key driver of economic activity, increasing national income, and contributing to achieving sustainable economic development. GED is marked by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, promoting the value of exhibitions worldwide. The 2021 GED campaign will focus on just how instrumental exhibitions are in creating platforms for growth and recovery, while also instilling confidence in others to participate in organised events that prioritise safety and success in equal measure.
Following a solid pipeline of events in Q1, ADNEC played a pivotal role in supporting the health care sector by relieving medical infrastructure at ADNEC, Al Ain Convention Centre and ExCeL London with the set-up of field hospitals in 2020.
As a driving force in setting the tone for the future of the exhibition industry during the post COVID-19 recovery phase, ADNEC have already successfully held and organised mega events with the highest safety protocols, includingIDEX and NAVDEX 2021, as well as the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, setting an example for major exhibitions in the post recovery period. ADNEC has also set the standard for the future of exhibitions by adopting hybrid technology to complement their physical service offering with virtual products when needed such as when clients cannot physically attend, with the aim to not offset events in their traditional physical format.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC commented, “Events are an integral part of ADNEC’s business and in 2021, ADNEC continues to thrive with large scale exhibitions that support the growth of key sectors identified by the government strategies. At ADNEC, our efforts are focused on continuously upgrading our world-class facilities in order to meet the requirements of our customers in the MICE industry.”
“Despite the challenges the world has faced in the MICE sector during the last year, ADNEC has showcased our company’s readiness and ability to solidify Abu Dhabi’s status as the region’s leading business-tourism capital, alongside continuing to offer world-class facilities and services with stringent health and safety measures that ensure the success of the MICE events hosted at our venues,” he further commented.
