H.E. Eng. Awaidha Murshed Al Marar, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has highlighted the importance of Emirati’s Children’s Day, which is held this year under the slogan “the right to participation”.
His Excellency said that Children’s Day is an auspicious occasion for all Emiratis and an opportunity to stress the importance of caring for children, protecting their rights, and ensuring their participation in all domains in order to create a generation capable of further developing the nation.
“Caring for children has been a fundamental tradition in our society and a legacy the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founding father of the UAE, has left for us. It is a policy continued by our wise Leadership, who understand that caring for the youngest generation is vital to drive the country’s sustainable development and to position it as a global leader in social development. It is our duty to look after our children and to raise them using the best teaching methods that are rooted in Emirati society,” H.E. said.
“At the Department of Energy we are committed to empowering children and enhancing their awareness of energy and the environment. We involve families in the conversation around rationalizing energy consumption and sustaining our natural resources,” H.E. added.
“On Emirati Children’s Day, I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to the ‘Mother of the Nation,’ H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation. I commend her for her tireless support and empowerment of Emirati children, her protection of Emirati families, and her determination to build a better generation,” H.E concluded.
