Several employees from across the Emirati family-run conglomerate are taking part in the sixth edition of the group’s Box Appeal Charity Campaign, as part of ALFAHIM’s annual CSR program.
Emphasizing the group’s core values of humanity and commitment, employees have showcased their community spirit by devoting time and donating over 50 boxes for charity to low-income workers in the UAE and less fortunate people abroad in time for Eid Al Adha. The boxes were full of clothes, books, dry foods and toiletries. Meanwhile, home furniture items were also sent out to families in need across the UAE.
Held annually in collaboration with the Abdul Jalil Al Fahim & Family Endowment Fund and the Emirates Red Crescent, this year, the Box Appeal has extended its reach to include the Zayed Higher Organization for Disability Services & Support Care (ZHO) in Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Quwain (UAQ) Charity and Al Ihsan Charity in Ajman.
With 2018 being officially named as the Year of Zayed, this edition of the charity donation drive is being held to honour the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, the First President of the UAE, and the late Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, the founder of ALFAHIM.
Volunteers from ALFAHIM visited ZHO in Mafraq, Abu Dhabi to give out gifts to patients who reside in the center between the ages of 12 and 89 years. The field trip gathered a group of people of determination patients with employees from ALFAHIM who voluntarily spent quality time playing games and socializing with one another.
ALFAHIM’s volunteers also enjoyed traditional celebratory feast with all ZHO members and patients to live the spirit of the blessed occasion.
Ramez Youssef, Group Head of Marketing & Communications, said: “As a socially responsible organisation, ALFAHIM works to benefit the community through a range of CSR events and projects. This year, staff went above and beyond by demonstrating the true meaning of compassion.
“By contributing to the charity campaign with their time and enjoying a festive meal with patients at ZHO, ALFAHIM are honouring the humanitarian legacy of our late founder, Abdul Jalil Al Fahim (mercy upon him).
