Arabic-Inspired Kids’ Workshops Introduce The Spirit Of Ramadan

Marina Mall Abu Dhabi is bringing the community together with unmissable Ramadan activities as Muslim communities prepare to observe the holy month.

Merging design with the flavours and style of Arabia, the mall on the Breakwater is hosting a series of complimentary workshops for children that will introduce the spirit of the holy month from a cultural perspective, as well as provide light iftars throughout Ramadan.

Children of all ages are invited to create new Ramadan traditions celebrating family and inspired by prominent Arabic designs in the inclusive environment, like learning how to make the iconic and colorful fanoos (lantern).

As well as lighting up the holiest of months with their take-home lanterns, children can also enjoy a wide-array of do-it-yourself (DIY) workshops, including the window and door shaped chime decoration classes to create illuminating entrances for their family homes.

Other activities include star and crescent shape cookie designs, gift wrapping and card making workshops, as well as individual canvass painting sets with traditional crescent shapes and star pattern outlines, all based around family experiences prominent during the holy month.

In addition to the workshops, a Ramadan hospitality tent will be available at the mammoth area for shoppers, providing light refreshments after sundown. The Arabic styled tent is open to all visitors and will serve Arabic dates and distribute traditional coffee from sundown.

Furthermore, Marina Mall Abu Dhabi will share its wealth with the less fortunate, setting up a Ramadan tent at the North block car park, closest to the VOX cinema location, distributing more than 200 free meals daily to members of the public.

Lastly, many Marina Mall Abu Dhabi restaurant venues will operate alternative hours during Ramadan. All restaurant venues will open for iftar, while the following restaurants will open during fasting hours behind designated screened areas: La Brioche, Five Guys, McDonalds, Shakespeare & Co and Chili’s.

Ramadan operation and workshop timings:

The children’s workshop is daily from 8:30PM until 11:30PM. Free, no age limit.
