Europe’s micro-mobility champion, Circ, has announced its latest community partnership in the UAE’s capital, as it today joins forces with Masdar City, the world’s first low-carbon urban community, to provide e-scooters to its residents, tenants and visitors.
Masdar City adds to Circ’s growing portfolio of partner communities in Abu Dhabi since its regional launch as the first regulator-approved e-scooter operator in the Middle East in July 2019, with current Abu Dhabi operations spanning the Corniche, Al Danah, Al Bateen and Reem Island.
Masdar City is Abu Dhabi’s flagship sustainable urban community and a pioneer in sustainability, incubating real-world solutions in energy and water efficiency, mobility and waste management. The city, which generates renewable energy on site from rooftop solar panels and a ground-mounted solar array, provides the ideal location for Circ to operate its fully electric scooters.

Circ’s e-scooters can be used in designated areas within Masdar City and parked anywhere that is not classified as a ‘no-park’ zone. Users simply need to download the Circ mobile application allowing them to “unlock” and operate the e-scooters within the community. The Circ app includes safety instructions, navigational tips, guidelines, online and safe payment options, tutorials and more. All Circ rides include comprehensive insurance for personal accident, third-party liability and product liability coverage.
