ejunior’s book donation campaign, which commemorates the Year of Zayed, is being warmly welcomed by schools across the country.
Numerous copies of Sheikh Zayed: Life and Times were distributed to 20 UAE schools between September and October, bringing the total number of schools to 30 since the start of the campaign this year. The book comes in English and Arabic and features a rare collection of photographs by Royal Photographer Noor Ali Rashid that celebrates the vision of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Residents can watch the video highlighting the book distribution during the year on ejunior, the exclusive UAE kids channel from E-Vision, a subsidiary of Etisalat. This year’s theme is ‘This is Zayed. This is the UAE.”
Humaid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision, said: “We are delighted to have received a warm response to our ‘Year of Zayed’ initiative, which speaks volumes about our founding father’s instrumental role in UAE history. There cannot be a more fitting tribute to the Founding Father in the Year of Zayed than being part of projects and initiatives that honour his legacy. Our book donation campaign not only aims to promote a love for reading among the youth, but also to instill the late Sheikh Zayed’s noble values across the community – wisdom, respect, determination, loyalty and a sense of belonging to the nation.”
A team from ejunior, distributed English and Arabic copies of the coffee table book to schools across the Emirates. These were Aldar Academy, Al Ekhlass School, ABC Private School, Mayoor Private School and Shining Star International School in Abu Dhabi; Al Mawaqeb School, Amity School, Jumeira Baccalaureate School, JSS Private School, Dubai International School, Grammar School, and Al Khaleej National School in Dubai.
Sharjah and Ajman-based schools also received copies of the book, namely Al Afiah Filipino Private School, Al Resalah International School of Science, New Delhi Private School, Al Itqan American School, Aspam Indian International School, The Bloomington Academy School, Al Ameer English School and Frontline International Private School.
The schools expressed their gratitude and appreciation for ejunior’s initiative, saying the best way to learn and gain knowledge is through books and that the Sheikh Zayed: Life and Times book helps spread the word about Sheikh Zayed’s legacy as the Father of the Nation.
Alyas Ali, Shining Star International School’s Principal, said: “We’re pleased to be selected by ejunior as part of their books initiative. The “Sheikh Zayed – Life and Times” books have greatly added to the library which showcases various books which celebrate the life of Sheikh Zayed and reinforces the strong My Identity program which is run throughout the school.”
Richard Drew, Jumeira Baccalaureate School’s Principal, said: “It was a great pleasure to be selected by ejunior as part of their books initiative. This campaign perfectly joins the projects that Jumeira Baccalaureate School has engaged since January to celebrate the Year of Zayed. The “Sheikh Zayed – Life and Times” books have found a special place in our Year Of Zayed corner showcased in JBS library.”
