First Abu Dhabi Bank, FAB, has signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, ADSSA, to provide a state-of-the-art Application Programming Interface, API, solution.
According to the memorandum of understanding was signed by Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Director-General of the ADSSA, and Hana Al Rostamani, FAB’s Group Head of Personal Banking, pre-paid cards and processes payments will be issued to support ADSSA’s financial aid programme for limited-income Emirati families.
These cards will enable users to withdraw cash and make purchases quickly and conveniently. Collectively, these services will form part of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Programme.
Al Rostamani said, “Using forward-looking payment technologies, we have created a unique API solution that will allow recipients to access funds quickly and efficiently. This solution will ease the administrative load on the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority and allow it to dedicate resources to other valuable causes.”
Al Dhaheri said, “Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority is mandated to develop social support initiatives for limited-income citizens across the emirate. This can best be fulfilled through partnerships with industry leaders, and we look forward to collaborating with the FAB on the new initiative that will support users to access funds effortlessly. Our priority is to provide social support to the UAE’s nationals in the most convenient way possible, and the FAB’s API solution will help achieve this goal.”

FAB’s collaboration with ADSSA is the latest in a series of partnerships within the bank’s Grow Stronger movement, which aims to contribute to social, economic and environmental development across the UAE and the wider region. In doing so, the bank is able to support the UAE Vision 2021, the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 and their associated objectives.
