The official Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 app is now available to download for Android and iOS users.
The cutting-edge new app will allow users to keep up to date on all aspects of the Games from their smartphone devices every day.
Across the 24 sports, fans will not miss any of the action thanks to an in-depth event schedule, where they will be able to see real-time games schedules, timings of more than 3,000 award ceremonies and details of non-sporting activities such as the Play and Live Unified games.
Android users can download the app by visiting the Google Play Store while the iOS version can be downloaded from the App Store.
The app will be an essential tool for thousands of people including volunteers, spectators, athletes and their families, coaches, media and many more, in the build-up and during Games time.
With more than 7,500 athletes from over 190 nations competing, Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 will be this year’s largest sports and humanitarian event. The app is packed with plenty of innovative features that will keep users connected and informed throughout the competition.
Users will also be able to find information about shuttle bus timings to other venues as well as the Host Town Program schedule.
Using up-to-date travel information and live alerts of Google Maps, fans can find out the easiest way to get to various World Games locations throughout the UAE, while there will also be general information on each venue.
With indoor navigation also installed, users will not have to worry about being lost at any of the venues. Whether they want to find a facility or the nearest exit within the building, key areas of the venues will be available on an interactive map which will be indispensable for all users.
Taking the user’s experience to another level is Augmented Reality (AR). The innovative piece of technology is quickly gripping the minds of the public and promises to be a big hit at the World Games. For anyone at any of the venues, can enhance their viewing experience and get closer to the action by holding their device in front of the real-world to see compelling computer-generated images.
Profiles of every single athlete, team and the sport as well as games results from each discipline will be available for users through the app.
It will also be integral for more than 20,000 volunteers, who can track their shift schedule and role at the click of a button.
