The country will also be the first Arab country to host the tournament. The opening match is scheduled to kick off on 21st November in the Al Bayt Stadium, located in Al Khor. The qualifiers for the FIFA world tournament are still ongoing which started on June 6th of 2019.

The Emblem for the Qatar World Cup game had been out and bear resemblance to the shawl worn by people during the winter season. This is to symbolize the unifying force both the everyday fabric and football, which has been around for many years, have on people’s lives. The typeface is written in Arabic calligraphy and integrates elements of kasheeda – a lengthening cursive script that enhances the flow and grace of the writing.

The venues, some completed and some still under construction are all built to embody a different time in the future, but with no compromise to the traditional design and values that the community of Qatar holds close.

Qatar seeks to use this opportunity to share its unique identity with the world and in the process, open up to new experiences. The country is hoping to become a global hub and with its compact nature, connect countries, communities, and peoples minds all made possible by the powerful game called football.
