ENATA Marine’s, Foiler – The Flying Yacht, will be one of the stars of the show when it arrives at the second edition of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS 2019).
Organised by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), ADIBS 2019 will run from 16 to 19 October and feature the latest products and services catering to the luxury yachting, leisure marine and fishing industries.
ENATA will join the 350 exhibitors and brands anticipated for the shows’ second edition with The Foiler set to be showcased amongst 100 boats on display.
Alex Nicholl, Show Director for ADIBS commented: “The Foiler will be a valuable addition to the top marine brands that have confirmed their participation in the upcoming edition. Since its inaugural event last year, the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show has become a firm fixture on the calendars of leading local, regional and international boat and yacht manufacturers, suppliers and specialists. In creating a dedicated platform for local boat builders and shipyards to display their capabilities and showcase the latest boats, yachts and marine accessories, Abu Dhabi International Boat Show bolsters the emirate’s status as a top leisure marine destination.”
Alex Nicholl added: “The addition of ENATA Marine’s Foiler to the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show 2019 reflects the significant impact our inaugural show achieved in 2018, when we attracted some 21,123 guests and 270 exhibitors from 25 countries. That success has made the 2019 edition a much-anticipated event, and we expect 350 exhibitors and brands to participate, including leading local manufacturers such as ENATA, Al Suwaidi Marine (ASM), Emirates Boats, Ocean Boats, High Boats, Al Falasi Marine, Hayaari Marine and IMG Boats.
Manufactured by ENATA, a leading GCC research and development company with interests in the marine, aerospace and architecture domains, the Foiler is powered by twin diesel turbo engines, with a total of 740hp, that drive two torpedo-like propellers attached to the rear foils foils which act as rudders. Combined with the two front foils, this allows the Foiler to glide up to 1.5m above the water, earning it the moniker ‘Flying Yacht’. The Foiler ‘takes-off’ at around 18 knots, with an average cruising speed between 18-35 knots, and up to 40 knots as a max, carrying eight passengers a distance of up to 190 nautical miles (352 kilometres).
While ENATA’s Foiler will be among the many new attractions lined up for 2019, also returning to the event will be the popular Sports Fishing Zone that featured talks from top experts and key influencers on regional fishing techniques and practices. In addition, ADIBS 2019 will showcase on-water demonstrations and key attraction for visitor enjoyment.
Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre encompasses a purpose built 31,000 square metres on-site show marina, which has been expanded to meet the surging demand from the international and local exhibitors. The marina comprises a 6-metre deep channel, enabling boats of all sizes to berth alongside corporate deck stands.
