Artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved into a powerful tool which has transformed the way we live and interact with the world. The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the world’s first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university, invites members of the public to learn about the present and future of AI in its upcoming MBZUAI Talks webinar, ‘Evolution of Artificial Intelligence: Past, Current and Future’ on 6 October from 6pm – 7:15pm UAE time.
The session will be hosted by Dr. Munawar Hayat, an Assistant Professor in the Computer Vision department at MBZUAI. During the webinar, Dr. Hayat will discuss the major developments and breakthroughs in AI over the past decade and offer insights into its potential future impact.
“As we move through the history of AI developments, we will look at the inception of AI as a field, its historical perspective in the context of other scientific disciplines, major breakthroughs and notable events,” said Dr. Hayat. “In this talk, I will discuss a number of topics in detail from the recent breakthroughs in deep learning, state-of-the-art deep learning-based methods in computer vision, image understanding, natural language processing, autonomous driving, game play and reinforcement learning.”
The session will also highlight the limitations of AI, possible future research directions and the challenges associated with AI research.
