COVID-19 has had a tangible impact on all of our lives. Learning more about it, including the technologies that can help fight the disease and mitigate its impact on society, is a responsibility we all share in order to overcome the pandemic. As part of its social responsibility to the UAE community, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), the world’s first graduate-level, research-based artificial intelligence (AI) university, invites members of the public to participate in its upcoming MBZUAI Talks webinar, ‘How does AI help fight the COVID-19 pandemic?’, on 4 August from 6-7pm.
Webinar registration is free, and can be completed at www.mbzuai.ac.ae/aitalks.
The session will be led by Dr. Mohammad Yaqub, Assistant Professor at MBZUAI, and research fellow at University of Oxford. During the webinar, Dr.Yaqub will discuss the role of artificial intelligence (AI) before, during, and after a pandemic, including use cases specific to the current outbreak of COVID-19.
Dr. Behjat Al Yousuf, Executive Vice President for Outreach and Engagement at MBZUAI, said: “We all have a responsibility to educate ourselves on COVID-19. This MBZUAI Talks webinar offers an accessible platform for everyone to gain essential knowledge and insights into the past, present, and future of pandemics, and how artificial intelligence can be used to reshape the future of emergency situations. From healthcare to education and economic recovery, artificial intelligence is one of our most powerful tools in combatting COVID-19.”
