Godfried Toussaint, Head of Computer Science Programme at New York University Abu Dhabi, NYUAD, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Computer Science from the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Computer Science (CS-Can/Info-Can). The award ceremony took place yesterday at York University in Toronto, Canada.
The award recognises Canadian faculty’s significant achievements in the areas of research, teaching or service throughout their academic career, and is granted on an annual basis.
Professor and Programme Head of Computer Science, Toussaint is also an affiliate researcher in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA, USA. He is a founder and co-founder of several annual international conferences and workshops, including the ACM Symposium on Computational Geometry and the Canadian Conference on Computational Geometry.
Toussaint is an editor of several journals including Computational Geometry: Theory and Applications, the International Journal of Computational Geometry and Applications, ISRN Geometry, and the Journal of Mathematics and the Arts.
Since joining NYUAD in 2011, Toussaint has been involved in several interdisciplinary research projects involving faculty and students at NYUAD, NYU New York, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
