SEHA To Participate In Abu Dhabi Edition Of World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress 2019

Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the largest healthcare network in the UAE has announced its participation at the World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress which runs on October 16th and 17th, 2019. Now in its 12th year, SEHA will share knowledge on best practice and delivering high quality patient outcomes, whilst also showcasing to high profile delegates, the upcoming Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital (SSMC).

Medical tourism in the UAE increased 5.5% year-over-year to reach Dh12.1 billion in sales in 2018. Initiatives such as the Abu Dhabi Medical Tourism e-portal launched by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health and Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), have helped spearhead growth of medical tourism in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, with SEHA facilities playing a crucial role to ensure the delivery of world-class healthcare.

“As the largest healthcare network in the UAE, SEHA hospitals have come to be recognised for their patient centric approach and care, which attracts patients from around the world. We continue to invest in elevating the quality of our services and the soon to be opened Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital will become a beacon for medical services in the UAE. At the World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress 2019, we look forward to engaging with global industry leaders, sharing best practices and unlocking new synergies which will benefit the country’s thriving health sector,” said Rashed Al Qubaisi, Group Deputy CEO, SEHA.

“My patients, when they visit me now at Mafraq, are asking when they can move to SSMC. This building (SSMC) has been here for years and everyone was wondering when can they visit.

“Patient care, safety and quality are our priority and we are confident that we will meet their and the government’s expectations,” said Dr Nahed Balalaa, a breast surgeon at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City.

During the two-day event, SEHA will also host VIP delegations at the Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City where attendees will be given exclusive behind the scenes access to the hospital, with an opportunity to learn more about its facilities, technologies and specialist areas.

The World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress is supported by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture & Tourism in partnership with the Department of Health. The biggest buyers of medical tourism in the world, will convene in Abu Dhabi over two days to listen to over 100 speakers and meet with over 100 buyers.
