Serco Middle East, a leading provider of essential public services, has announced that it is delivering a turnkey Infrastructure and Facilities Management solution for The Galleria on Al Maryah Island in Abu Dhabi. As part of their five-year contract, the company will handle all maintenance of the existing and expanded asset covering everything from specialist infrastructure systems through to operational elements such as security and valet services.
The mall is the result of a visionary collaboration between Gulf Related and Mubadala Real Estate and Infrastructure (MREI) and following the recent expansion it now offers more than 1.8 million square feet of leasable space. As the key delivery partner, Serco is delivering all core support services relating to the development, spanning 270 indoor and outdoor shops, 70 dining areas and housing entertainment options such as cinemas, urban parks and children’s play areas. With over 400,000 visitors over the first few opening days, and with much praise by press and visitors alike, the Galleria has already confirmed itself as one of the busiest and highest quality retail destinations in the Middle East.
Edward Gallagher, Managing Director for Integrated Services, Serco Middle East said: “We are extremely proud to be the delivery partner for such a superb complex, which promises to be a huge attraction for decades to come. To support the expansion of The Galleria, we have provided innovative solutions to the challenges presented by such a high-footfall space and through a mix of innovative technology and Serco’s global know-how, have deployed an operation which from day one has delivered a vibrant, clean and safe environment for hundreds of thousands of visitors. We relish the challenge of such a customer facing environment, allowing our trusted and talented staff to bring our approach of “making a difference every day” to life.”
