The enchanting ‘Winterfest’ is making return to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi for the fourth consecutive year, with an array of festive family-friendly activities and shows running from 16 December 2016 to 07 January 2017.
This year, winter celebrations at the Park will kick-off with a one-time solo performance from the UAE’s “Ice Princess”, Zahra Lari. Member of the International Skating Union, the 21 year-old skating superstar is the first Emirati athlete hopeful to officially represent the UAE and compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Zahra is due to perform a breathtaking routine at the grand opening of Winterfest on Friday, 16 December.
Commenting on her participation, Jesse Vargas, General Manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi said: “The presence of the prominent ice skater Zahra Lari, will make this year’s Winterfest celebrations at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi even more memorable. We are truly delighted to have her at the Park as we believe she can inspire thousands of young athletes in the UAE with her incredible talent and determination. Her spectacular performance is a real highlight for our audiences to enjoy.”
“I am very proud to be representing the Emirates Skating Club at this year’s Winterfest at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, along with other club members, who will be performing alongside me. My performance at Winterfest will be a sneak peak of my 2018 Olympic qualifying programme and I look forward to meeting everyone there”, added Zahra Lari.
Throughout the festival, the winter wonderland at the first Ferrari branded theme park will include a colorful tree lighting ceremony every hour, with regular appearances from the famous duo Khalil and Berto. Guests can also enjoy the figure skating show that combines acrobatics and expressive dance, and for those looking to become the next ice skating champ, the floor is all yours when the shows aren’t live! The 240 sqm ice rink will be available for guests to skate and enjoy their time with friends and family.
The beloved Bjorn, the animatronic polar bear, will meet and greet guests during the interactive show. Engaging the audience at the Park, the playful polar bear and his Arctic companion will teach guests interesting facts about his habits and habitat.
As the seasonal music plays at the Park, the gracious ballerinas will dance their way into guest’s hearts with their mesmerizing performance in an enormous snow globe located at ‘Via d‘Italia”.
As for the little champions, the snow-play area will give them some real fun as they run, play, throw artificial snow into the air and enjoy the gigantic slide.
The seasonal market will also offer delicious festive fare with traditional cakes and cookies, as well as Ferrari World Abu Dhabi ornaments and merchandise.
