Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment hub, has recently rolled out WhatsApp for Business as a guest messaging support channel, expanding the Yas Concierge’s AI communication streams and making it easier for visitors to get in touch with any questions they might have, wherever they are in the world. The region’s first-of-its-kind implementation by a destination is available 24/7 and replies to guests in English and Arabic.
To date, more than 3,300 unique customer requests have been addressed on WhatsApp by the Yas Concierge, which provides a single point of contact for guests to Yas Island and Abu Dhabi’s award-winning attractions, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and Yas Marina. CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi will launch WhatsApp at the end of January, while Etihad Arena is due to roll it out later in 2020.
Globally, WhatsApp is actively used in more than 180 countries by more than 1 billion people every day and in the UAE alone, nearly 8 million people (around 82% of the population) uses the messaging and chat application. Implementing WhatsApp as a guest service channel, in addition to the existing AI-powered social media chatbots, has enabled Yas Island to further ensure that guests enjoy a seamless experience on their own terms with this quick and effortless solution.
Yas Island expects to increase guest interactions on WhatsApp to over 50 thousand messages over the span of 2020. In addition to the WhatsApp messaging support service, guests can continue reaching out to Yas Concierge through phone, e-mail and social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
