The Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG), the leading entity for developing human competencies in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, has announced the launch of special training sessions and workshops for people of determination in the Abu Dhabi government sector. Running from 14-28 December, the training program falls under ADSG’s ‘Government Employment Charter’ program and is the first of its kind in the emirate. Through the program, participants will learn how to foster a positive working culture and ethic in their workplaces.
In order to create inclusive learning experiences for all Abu Dhabi government employees, ADSG holds the sessions virtually on December 14, 21, and 28, and will have live interpretation for those with hearing difficulties, while the session on December 17 used course materials translated to Braille for those with visual impairments at ADSG’s headquarters.
This initiative falls under the Abu Dhabi School of Government’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s comprehensive strategy for People of Determination 2020-2024, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, with the aim to make an inclusive and innovative city for people of determination and the wider community.
H.E Abdullah Abdul Ali Al Humaidan, General Secretary of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination marked his appreciation for the Abu Dhabi School of Government and those responsible for the Government Employment Charter program. He thanked them for organizing the first workshop for the blind and visually impaired group of employees and highlighted that this program will develop and upgrade their skills, administrative and leadership capabilities. This falls in line with the implementation of the terms of the MoU signed with ADSG, to adopt training programs for people of determination and accelerate their integration.
“ADSG has activated new areas in training opportunities for the institution’s seniors, helping to enhance their capabilities in line with the best international standards through partnerships with training and scientific institutions. The organization supported the program through translating the educational content provided by the ADSG, including the provisions of the Government Employment Charter, and the basic principles of the code of conduct in Braille for the blind so that those with visual challenges can read them,” he added.
He affirmed that the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination seeks to achieve excellence in all services it provides within its strategic priorities. Which include implementing the directives of the wise leadership by empowering and integrating the people of determination. This will contribute to enhancing their role in the comprehensive and sustainable development process that Abu Dhabi is witnessing across various fields.
Dr. Nama SalmeenAlAmeri, Dean of the Abu Dhabi School of Government, said: “The Abu Dhabi School of Government is dedicated to enhancing the skills of all Abu Dhabi Government employees, which falls in line with the UAE’s continued efforts to create a more inclusive present and future. We are proud to launch these specialized training sessions and we believe that through this learning journey, government employees of determination will be able to integrate better into their working environments and improve their performance.”
AlAmeriadded: “We seek to continually provide people of determination with the opportunity to advance their skills and enhance their professional development. We are committed to identifying creative avenues by which we can further support their progress and contribute to achieving Abu Dhabi’s vision of government excellence and a knowledge-based economy.”
The ‘Government Employment Charter’ program is designed to develop the competencies of Abu Dhabi government employees as defined by the Code of Professional Conduct. Through the program, ADSG is promoting the development of a positive working culture based on five core principles, which include integrity, loyalty, personal and public responsibility, excellence and innovation, efficiency and effectiveness. The program also focuses on educating Abu Dhabi government employees about their most important duties and responsibilities.
The workshops and sessions includes several programs, such as, the “Government Work Charter” program, and other focused on functional, leadership and digital competencies as well, which will be launched in 2021, in proportion to the target group of people of determination.
