Daman Rolls Out Its Smart Branches For All Members

The National Health Insurance Company – Daman has launched virtual branch services, named Daman smart branches, for all 2.5 million members of the leading health insurer, following the successful roll out of the service for the insurer’s Thiqa members.

The new digital service provision follows the successful integration of Daman’s first digital smart branch, Hayakom-Thiqa, also a first for the GCC health insurance sector. Launched earlier this year for Daman’s Thiqa members, the virtual branch has operated at a daily 100% capacity since launch.

Daman members now have access to all the services offered by a physical in-branch visit, but with the convenience of an online virtual branch. Through booking advanced appointments on Daman’s website with a customer service presentative, members can make use of this new service as part of the wider suite of technological solutions that Daman offers to its members.

Commenting on the launch of the service, Hamad Al Mehyas, Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Company – Daman, said: “Throughout our fifteen-year history, Daman has been committed to integrating cutting-edge technological solutions that provide customers with value-added products and services. The launch of our virtual branch services, and the incredible reception it has received by Thiqa members, represents another example of how Daman is using advanced IT breakthroughs to ensure members can enjoy tailored customer service which caters to their distinct needs and requirements.

“Following our sustained and long-term investment in technological solutions, Daman has continued to design, implement, and champion services which ensure customers enjoy easy and continued access to our services and products, through multiple channels and 24/7 support available for all members. Following the impact of the pandemic, we are pushing the boundaries of service digitisation, demonstrating how Daman continues to prioritise customers’ convenient access to its services.”

Members can book a virtual appointment in the virtual branches by visiting www.damanhealth.ae. Members will have access to all the amenities of a physical branch including applying for new policies, renewals, additions of new members, reimbursement claims and any other enquiry from the comfort of their own homes. Virtual sessions are available Sunday – Thursday, 8am – 4pm, and during Ramadan are available from 9am – 3pm.

Daman’s in-person branches remain open, at 30% capacity, for members preferring in-person visitation. Daman advises its members to use its wide range of digital services, including the app and online web services wherever possible.
