Kinokuniya Bookstore will open its first location in the UAE capital at The Galleria Al Maryah Island next year, giving book lovers, families and the local community even more reasons to visit Abu Dhabi’s next-generation destination.
Since Kinokuniya Bookstore first opened in Tokyo in 1927, it has become a beloved brand across the world with flagship stores from as far afield as New York and San Francisco to Sydney and Kuala Lumpur. The brand was established in the UAE in Dubai Mall towards the end of 2008, and in spring 2020 Kinokuniya will open at Abu Dhabi’s most-anticipated new entertainment and lifestyle destination.
Kinokuniya will enhance The Galleria’s comprehensive entertainment and leisure offering which includes three levels of world-class entertainment for all ages, family parks, a 21-screen VOX cinema with IMAX and first-in-the-region culinary concept Central Kitchens. Kinokuniya’s unmatched selection of books, magazines, comics and gifts will cater to every member of the community.

All this will add to The Galleria’s established Luxury Collection which houses over 130 of the world’s most coveted fashion, jewellery and watch boutiques and The Dining Collection’s outstanding array of award-winning restaurants along Al Maryah Island’s Waterfront Promenade, which includes Zuma, La Petite Maison and Nusr-Et. Once fully open in September, The Galleria will be the most exciting retail, entertainment and culinary hub in Abu Dhabi.
