New Saraydan Turkish Café Concept Launched From Abu Dhabi

With a promise to surprise and delight, and a grand opening befitting the presence of the country’s ambassador to the UAE, a new and dynamic culinary concept has been launched today from Abu Dhabi – Saraydan Turkish Café.

Saraydan meaning “from the palace”, promises an authentic café, restaurant, and bakery experience, inspired by Ottoman palace cuisine to suit both the sweet and savoury palate.

The unique food and beverage concept, say its owners, Retailistic, the retail arm of Mubarak and Brothers Investments (MBI), will see strong immediate demand in Abu Dhabi, followed by likely expansion across the UAE, and later the GCC and beyond.

“We believe that everyone loves good Turkish food, but that not everyone fully appreciates the wide variety and truly authentic tastes of centuries-old Turkish cuisine, and this new level of authenticity is what Saraydan is able to deliver in an informal yet tasteful environment,” said Banu Tas, Vice President, Asset Management & Retail, at MBI.

Saraydan provides traditional Turkish food, from the recipes of Turkish grandmothers hundreds of years ago. Contributing to its authenticity is that every aspect, from the ingredients and Ottoman inspired interiors of the café, to the chefs who have been prudently handpicked from Turkey. Saraydan has recently added an extended menu (in English and Arabic), a delivery service and catering to corporate and party functions.

The first outlet has opened at Deerfield’s Mall in the Khalifa City A/Shahama area of Abu Dhabi, a rapidly growing vibrant community which includes 150,000 people living nearby, as well as some of the 500,000 cars that pass by on the Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi highway every week.

Saraydan was officially opened by Mohammed Al Haj, Chief Executive Officer of Mubarak and Brothers Investments (MBI), in the presence of the Turkish Ambassador to the UAE, Mr. Mustafa Levent Bilgen, high ranking guests, members of the management team, and media. Live cooking of baklava was demonstrated by Saraydan chefs, in an atmosphere of live music and entertainment.
