Raytheon Emirates, a Raytheon Technologies subsidiary, has launched a second internship program supporting the United Arab Emirates’ vision to develop Emirati talent. The internship offers students on-the-job training to bolster their education and careers.
Six undergraduates joined the program from Abu Dhabi University, Zayed University, and the American University of Sharjah. Students are being placed within Cyber Security, Human Resources, Business Development, Finance, Project Management and Global Trade.
“Raytheon Emirates presents a valuable opportunity for youth to work closely with talented professionals and gain exposure to careers in our industry,” said Alan Davis, Raytheon Emirates chief executive.“It’s our obligation to prepare students and provide them a career path, and we’re aligning these efforts with UAE’s vision to inspire future leaders.”
The internship lasts seven weeks and will be conducted virtually and in-person. Participants will receive coaching and guidance from experienced personnel to enhance their skills.
“This training will provide the experience students need to supplement their education, ”said Fatima Alshamsi, Raytheon Emirates talent acquisition manager. “By supporting Emirati youth, we not only fulfill their aspirations, we foster leadership development.”
Upon completion of the program and graduation, students have the option of applying for positions within the company. Raytheon Emirates is committed to fostering Emirati talent as part of a diverse multi-national workforce. The company’s goal is to place at least 45 percent Emiratis in top management, engineering and functional areas.
