The Abu Dhabi School Of Government And Emirates Association Of Accountants And Auditors Inks Partnership With MoU Signing

The Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG), the leading government platform for developing human capital in Abu Dhabi, has partnered with the Emirates Association of Accountants and Auditors to develop training programs for Abu Dhabi government employees, enhancing their skillsets and expertise in accounting, finance, and auditing profession.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohammed Gheyath, Acting Director-General of the ADSG, and Her Excellency Amna Abdulaziz Al Mahri, General Manager from the Association, at the Academy’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

As part of the agreement, the two parties will be collaborating to create and develop specialized training programs in the fields of accounting, finance, and auditing, for Abu Dhabi government employees. In addition, the partnership will also encourage continuous learning and development, whilst also enhancing knowledge in the latest technical tools, UAE law and legislations, and field expertise. Upon successful completion of the programs, participants will be made eligible to apply to become UAE Certified Public Accountants as well as gain other related certificates.

His Excellency Mohammed Gheyath, Acting Director-General of the ADSG, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Emirates Association of Accountants and Auditors to exchange key learnings and expertise in the fields of accounting, finance, and auditing. Their work in enriching those in the financial and accountancy professions will further augment the success and excellence of our world-class programs, and we are looking forward to this strategic partnership.”

He added: “As part of our mission to create and develop comprehensive programs, the ADSG will continue to partner with leaders in the industry to offer educational journeys founded on international best practices and expertise. By identifying key opportunities for collaboration, the ADSG will enable Abu Dhabi’s workforce to hone their skills and knowledge in line with the latest developments of the job market, which will contribute towards realizing the Emirate’s vision for building a sustainable and knowledge-based economy.”

Her Excellency Amna Abdulaziz Al Mahri, General Manager of the Emirates Association of Accountants and Auditors, said: “We are pleased to sign this MoU with the ADSG today to implement a clear framework for our cooperation in several strategic initiatives that will enhance and develop Abu Dhabi’s government employees’ skills and expertise in accountancy and finance profession.”

She added: “The Association, under the leadership of His Excellency Riyad Al Mubarak, Honorary President, is working closely with leading industry experts and relevant entities as part of its efforts to strengthen the capabilities of professional accountants in the UAE. By developing their skillsets and raising their performance levels through the exchange of knowledge and expertise amongst fellow professionals and experts in the field, we are able to ensure that the UAE continues to stay at the forefront of industry and that our people have access to the best learning and training possible.”

A not-for-profit organization, the Emirates Association of Accountants and Auditors was established in 1997 through a Federal mandate with the key objective of building national capacity of those in the accountancy and finance professions in line with the best available global practices and standards. As part of its work, the Association has implemented numerous strategic initiatives to develop the professions of accounting and finance in the UAE.

The Association is the only national entity in the country to obtain membership of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and it’s programs are accredited by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), US and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK. In addition, the Association is a strategic partner for several federal bodies and local departments in the UAE.
