The UAE capital has launched the first-ever Games and Tech Week Abu Dhabi, an action-packed 14 days of gaming and technology events and activities for gamers, industry professionals and the UAE community as a whole.
Presented by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Games and Tech Week Abu Dhabi will continue until 26 October, offering the latest in gaming and technology as well as presenting immersive experiences and future-forward insights to gaming professionals and enthusiasts. The dedicated event also provides visitors and residents with the chance to try out new games not yet released in the Middle East and enjoy gaming activations at malls and hotels, as well as gaming menus at popular restaurants.

Games and Tech Week Abu Dhabi features world-class gaming and technology events. The gaming festival kicked off with HITB+Cyberweek at Emirates Palace Hotel, an internationally acclaimed conference that provided the world’s leading strategists and cyber security experts a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing. The event also included cutting-edge technical talks by some of the most reputable experts in the computer security industry, as well as competitions for emerging talent in ethical hacking and cyber security.
Games and Tech Week Abu Dhabi will also see Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) host global Esports conference XLIVE and the Middle East Games Con Abu Dhabi 2019, both organised by Informa Markets, and supported by DCT Abu Dhabi.
XLIVE provides a unique platform for esports professionals, experts and stakeholders to explore the latest trends in the thriving esports industry, as well as recognising growth opportunities in the MENA region.
Middle East Games Con Abu Dhabi will be shedding light on the future of pro-gaming technology, previewing unreleased games in the region from official publishers and developers of the biggest games from around the world, hosting official Esports tournaments, offering exclusive merchandise, and feature a special Cosplay Competition amongst many other activations. XLIVE is scheduled to take place between 23-24 October, followed by the Middle East Games Con from 24-26 October.
