The exciting inaugural first practice session of the new Yas Marina Circuit track saw Max Verstappen lead the FP1 sheet on Friday, as the drivers tested out the newly reconfigured track ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
On the shorter 5.28km circuit, Max Verstappen of Red Bull set the pace early on with the fastest lap of 1:25:009, ahead of title rival, Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas. As drivers faced the new challenges of changes to the Yas Marina Circuit track for the first time, the teams and drivers will be sparing no efforts in their preparations for what will be one of the greatest F1 season finales in history come Sunday 12th December.
